Science Day at the Ala-Too International University

On November 10, a ceremonial meeting dedicated to the World Science Day for Peace and Development was held at Ala-Too International University. The meeting was attended by students, administration and university teachers.

During the meeting, the rector of the AIU, PHD, associate professor Zhyldyzbek Zhakshylykov, delivered a welcoming speech. The university provides comprehensive support to university staff in their further scientific trajectory. This is how the AIU covers the cost of training for PHD programs within the university. As part of the ceremonial meeting, colleagues who began their graduate studies were presented with gift certificates.

Vice-Rector, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Salidin Kaldybaev made a speech about the current scientific and organizational tasks for the 2023-2024 academic year. A significant part of the activities this year will be related to material and institutional support for scientists actively engaged in scientific activities. University research grants are provided for faculties. Dr. Salidin Kaldybaev presented cash prizes for scientists who demonstrated high scientific results over the past year. Cash prizes and memorable certificates were awarded to: Mirza Masrur Ali Beg, Kashif Hasan Khan, Gulzat Esenalieva, Cholpon Bodbaeva, Cholpon Alieva, Remudin Mekuria, Shuzhaat Naeem Azmi, Jyldyz Takenova.

At the meeting, the Coordinator of the Center for Innovation and Technology of the AIU, Radmir Gumerov, made a report. He reported to the meeting about his trip together with the dean, Ruslan Isaev in Astana at Nazarbayev University, where they presented the project of a university visual voice assistant at the Digital Bridge International Technology Forum.

After the report, the researchers and teachers were presented with certificates and letters of gratitude by Vice-Rector, PHD Rustam Umarov. 31 university employees were awarded with valuable awards.

At the ceremonial meeting, PHD, associate professor, teacher of the Faculty of Medicine Mirza Masrur Ali Beg spoke, who shared his experience of collaboration in the preparation of joint publications in high-ranking publications from the list of Scopus and Web of Science.

Ala-Too International University publishes two peer-reviewed academic journals, the Eurasian Journal of Business and Economics, as well as Ala-Too Academic Studies. In 2023, the journal Ala-Too Academic Studies once again became the highest-rated publication in the RSCI (Russian Science Citation Index) system in Kyrgyzstan. Much work in this direction is being carried out by the vice-rector for scientific work, Salidin Kaldybaev, and the executive editor of the journal, Nuriza Asanovna Asanova. Students of the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science are now working on an online electronic platform for the journal, which will automate the process of acceptance, review, and payment for articles in the journal. At the ceremonial meeting, students Gulayim Ibraimova and Sardar Kasmaliev demonstrated the prototype and main elements of the future project.

After the students’ speech, Advisor to the Rector, PHD, Associate Professor Erdolatov Sanzharbek Saipidinovich and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, PHD, Associate Professor Akmoldoev Kyyalbek awarded students who distinguished themselves in the scientific activities of the faculties and college with letters of gratitude.

At the ceremonial meeting there was an exhibition of book publications by employees of the Ala-Too International University. In recent years, university scientists have prepared numerous monographs, textbooks, dictionaries, and translated publications in Kyrgyz, Russian and English.

The ceremonial meeting ended with a coffee break for the event participants.

As part of Science Day, Ala-Too International University hosts other events for students and teachers. The faculties and college of the university hold round tables, seminars, lectures, and quizzes dedicated to the holiday.
